Herbal Medicine

The earliest written records of herbal remedies are written on Sumerian clay tablets. These 5,000 year old tablets list hundreds of herbs used for medicinal purposes. While these are the earliest written records we know of, archeological evidence reveals the use of medicinal herbs 55,000 years earlier.

Critics of herbology argue that herbal treatments are nothing more than old wives tales or Grandma's untested folk medicine. But knowing herbal remedies have been passed down from generation to generation for 60,000 years, common sense demands we recognize this wealth of accumulated wisdom, born from trial and error and sacrifice, is a gift dating back to our earliest forefathers.

Herbal medicines offer many benefits over conventional drugs. When potent, good quality herbal medicine is used correctly, it can be more effective than conventional medicines, without the potentially dangerous side effects. On the other hand, there is potential to cause serious and very harmful side effects when not used in a safe manner. When using herbal medicine, use with caution.
